Amaizin Pineapple

\nAmaizin pineapples are grown in Sri Lanka by a cooperation of small-scale Organic farmers.\n\nWe only use a unique, typical kind of pineapple from Sri Lanka, called Mauritius (the Queen of pineapple).The taste of the Mauritius pineapple is much sweeter and more aromatic than the regular ones coming from South-America and Africa.\n\nBecause of this sweet taste, there is no need to add sugar to the product.\n\nDue to the long and thin shape of the Mauritius pineapple, it can only be processed manually and not  mechanically. Which is exactly the reason you will not find this kind of pineapple in regular pineapple products. The manually cleaning, peeling and cutting of the pineapples creates work and income for the women in the local villages.\n\n
